Jasper Newton: Joseph's Charge (Fiction / Jan. 2001)

CEO Edward L. Lassiter agreed to help in the Deputy Director's scheme.  He was to steal a cache of (already stolen) military weapons and deliver it to "Ramone".  But there was so much more to it than he could have possibly believed!  There was a large gap in Edward's memory when he woke up in a run down hotel.  Edward had been framed for the murder of an Army Intelligence Officer and forced into hiding for three years.  His only contact was Jenny, his former assistant.  Then "Joseph" showed up.

Morgan Shipman lived long ago in the 1880's.  At nine years of age he witnessed Ned Fly murder his father.  Morgan instinctively went for Ned's eyes and Ned fled, vowing vengeance.  Shortly afterward "Joseph" arrived.

*** Joseph was sort of a guardian angel for Morgan and Edward.  In fact, Morgan and Edward are one and the same, only in different times.  The author set the story mainly in the 1990's.  But the reader is taken back to Morgan's story often.  Both times had action, but only one had a "happily ever after".  A bit choppy, but very well written with a sound plot and leaves the reader thinking.  Great debut novel! ***
